The steep slope of this site is representative of the Colorado landscape and is the guiding force behind the design. The home stretches along the slope, with multiple levels inside creating open, yet private living spaces. The main living areas are located on the third level of the house, allowing for the entrance to be placed higher than most of the house. The large windows allow ample natural light, while providing endless views of Boulder County. The lowest level never feels like a basement because it opens up onto a walkout on the longest side of the house, and has the same endless views as the rest of the home. The major elevation of the house is covered with integrated multi-level decks which take advantage of the views and create wonderful outdoor spaces; they also provide additional shading and protect the more private spaces of the home.
